Why does no one seem to trust their doctor!?

But they trust internet rando's who have no medical training whom they've never met!? What is that!? It is clearly, killing me.

Because if it's on the Internet it *has* to be true, duh.
No in all seriousness I think some people have bad experiences with doctors and that just scars them for life. Which is dumb. You can't paint all doctors with the same brush.

Doctors are not infallible. They get stuff wrong allll the time.
 While it may not seem smart to get internet opinions, sometimes people just need assurance from others who have experienced the same thing, especially if they can't afford to get a second opinion from another doctor

And if they do choose to get information from the internet, why don’t they at least look for reputable websites? It’s no harder than posting on here and waiting for replies and hoping for the best

Some doctors are wrong. Some doctors give bad advice. Some doctors don’t keep up with the times. 
Online you can check out websites like AAP (which takes scientific studies done by multiple doctors on thousands of people) into account to formulate recommendations. 
There’s lot of room for human error when you trust only one doctor. 
Having said that, of course recommendations on sites like AAP are made for the majority of people. Sometimes individuals don’t always fall into the majority. That’s why it’s important to question your doctor if you don’t understand something or feel like it doesn’t make sense.

I believe it is because professionals have guidelines and red tape restricting what they can and can't disclose whereas random people on the internet may (or may not!) have first hand experience and can disclose more realistic expectations. This isn't the most trustworthy way of researching but humans are naturally social creates and trust in groups of their peers.
