Suicide Prevention Advocacy
Hello there!
I’m Krystal and not only have I been a member of this community for about 3 years now, but I’ve also been an advocate for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for a year. The foundation is non profit and works to not only prevent suicide, but work towards public policy reforms regarding Mental Illness in this country. I myself have contacted my State senators on multiple occasions to try and pass important bills on mental illness. They also work hard to create education programs regarding Mental Illness and suicide. I myself have suffered from depression for the last 12 years, and was diagnosed with major depressive disorder about 5 years ago. I have had my own struggles with suicidal thoughts, and have worked so hard to cope and be an advocate for those who struggle like myself. Every year the foundation does a community walk in most cities. I am planning on walking this year and would like your help to fight for suicide prevention and create more awareness around mental illness. Please visit the link below, and donate if you can! Anything is appreciated! If you or someone you know is struggling, please contact one of the many resources available including the 24/7 suicide hotline 1-800-273-8255
