Temporary disability

I live in California and graduated from being a full time student and waiting to take my state exam. I don’t have a job since nursing school is extreme on top of having kids to tend to..what I was wondering (forgot to ask doctor) is if I am able to utilize temporary disability for pregnancy still even if I am currently unemployed? I am due in Nov..and money has been extremely tight for my family and I am panicking because I won’t be able to get hired being so far along in pregnancy and also working in general. Anyone have experience with this? 😔
