First time having sex

Hey guys so I just had sex for the first time last night. It happened to be period sex because I was on the pill for 3 weeks and within that time I just kept bleeding and bleeding so I ended up stopping the pill but still continued to bleed. The sex was extremely painful. Towards the end the pain started to get less but remained painful. This morning I went for a shower and as I was washing down there, there was more blood clots than usual what freaked me out the most was I saw something that was skin but appeared to be a tissue but I know for a definite fact it was not tissue I’m just tryna paint a picture to you guys of what I saw ( I know all the myths about hymens are circulating out there but I can’t help but wonder was that my hymen) if anyone knows what that may be please let me know, or if they have had any similar experience.
