Found out I have ovarian Cyst...

Anna

Alright, so I figured I got these regularly because 1) it’s very typical during ovulation and 2) I’ve experienced pain from them for years but never severe enough to have it investigated.

I was in such horrible pain from this one that after a week of it I went to a gyno. I got an ultrasound. The verdict?

I have a 6.7 cm (that’s right, almost 3 inches, 2.638 inches to be exact) left ovarian cyst. I’ve had it for over a week now.

I’m 23 and this problem causes even more issues such as, I cant have sex with my boyfriend from the extreme pain, it makes it difficult to do my physically demanding job, my emotions have been so heated since it’s worsened, and it’s making me so lethargic!

All they said was “come back in 3 months for a follow up ultrasound. Take 600 mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours or 800 mg of ibuprofen every 8 hours.”

That’s it.

Does that sound right? I mean, my uterus is like 3-4 inches by 2.5 inches, so this cyst is about half the size of my uterus. I’m not sure if it’s a product of the cyst or not, but I woke up with EXTREME back pain this morning out of nowhere and cried for an hour. It hurts to pee, run, twist, stretch, anything really...

Any opinions?
