Could we still get lice?

So yesterday my step daughter had her friend over and when she left her friend's mother called me and said that she had two nits in her hair and to check my kids hair.
Well, I have a HUGE phobia of bugs, dirt, etc. I'm a clean freak. So I went crazy and washed every bedsheets in my kids room in hot water, vacuumed their room, and sprayed it down with alcohol. I checked all my kids hair and there was nothing at all in their hair. (I checked multiple times all night and this morning).
Her friend isn't allowed at our house anymore, but are we in the clear or not yet?

Your going a bit crazy not letting her friend come over anymore but you should be in the clear but it's still possible

You should be fine. Adding tea tree oil to their shampoo and conditioner can help prevent them too. I don’t blame you for not letting her friend come over. At least until you know for sure it’s gone. My daughter got lice from a friend and now even though it’s gone I still make them sleep in silk caps lol that I can rewash and also use a spray I made just with water and tea tree oil. There’s nothing wrong with not letting a kid with lice come over!

I’m still treating lice. My kids been clean for 4days now it’s a process you need to check for the next week or so. They hatch every 4-7 days.
