Pass the baby during holidays

My baby will be 4-5 months old during the upcoming holidays and I really don't want to deal with pass the baby. My husband and I have really large families and they're super lovey/kissy. Just don't want to risk having someone kiss my baby when I'm not looking. Plus, it's cold/flu season and I don't want her getting sick. I also don't want smokers holding her.

Any suggestions on what to say to people when they ask to hold her?

What are other moms planning to do at family gatherings? Will you let everyone pass your baby around?
