Birth control question

I started my birth control (the pill) on the first day of my period like my doctor told me too and I’m now on the fourth day of it. It seemed to already make my period so much lighter, I started spotting just on the third day. But today it’s less like spotting and more like a really light period, but the blood is very dark brown, I’m just wondering is that normal for when you first start birth control?
