Cervical Cancer scare?!

Okay.. so about three years ago I went through a little reckless stage. Now, I’m getting my first PAP smear. I’m seriously freaking out over HPV/Cervical cancer. I’m worried that I caught HPV three years ago and that it never went away and by the time I’m getting checked, it’s already going to be full blown cancer. Is this possible? Should I be worried?!

Theres only a certain strain of HPV that causes cancer. The very common one that 80% of the population has does not. Even if you had it, it's unlikely you have cervical cancer.

If you think you got it three years ago, why didn’t you get checked three years ago

HPV is super common. 70 or 80% of all people get it at some point. Even if you do have it, it's a super small chance it would turn into cancer.
