Help i need advice!!!

So I was dating my ex for 5 years and lived together for 1year. I recently broke it off and moved out. Because i felt he was not ready for marriage (we had talked about it but I was seeing no signs of him thinking about marriage, his family didn't accept me so he couldn't marry me as they didn't approve), he took me and the relationship for granted and I was changing in terms of my attitude and behaviour. I was just too numb.

Marriage is important to me and being a Christian I felt like I had compromised a lot for him and got nothing. Cut a long story short, we have started talking and having casual sex and I don't think it's a good idea. We have talked about rekindling our relationship but start of as friends cos I am not sure if anything will change. Am I being silly I just dunno if I should consider getting back with him or not. Please help me
