Mixed Messages?

First post so go easy on me! 😅

My boyfriend and I have been together for three years. He’s 32 and I’m 24. Before we started dating, we had a discussion about what the goal would be if we did date. I made sure he knew I want to get married and have a family one day, and he was totally on board. We’ve had the discussion a few times since and he always agrees that is the goal to dating is to get married and have a family.

We haven’t used any form of birth control aside from pulling out, so naturally I’ve had a few “scares”. Nothing crazy, just me overreacting and stressing when my period is a day late and then of course that prolongs it. He used to make jokes when I would mention it to him, like “Alright I’m booking you a trip to Mexico.” Or “Planned Parenthood, here we come.”

Those jokes always stung quite a bit and so we finally talked about it. He just wasn’t ready for babies and that’s okay. I asked him not to make jokes like that since it caused confusion and made me feel like we weren’t on the same page or headed in the right direction.

WELL! Recently, he’s learned about how pregnant I can look if I push my belly out after eating. He’s obsessed! He’ll snuggle right up and lay his head on my stomach after dinner, and say “okay do it!” until I extend my stomach, then just sit and kiss my food baby belly and tell me how much he loves my stomach. I think it’s so cute and sweet!

And that brings me to yesterday. We were cleaning out our garage and he asked if we should get rid of his trophies and stuff like that from childhood. I said “no of course not! You’ll want that for posterity!” And he chuckled and said “it’s a good thing I love wearing tight underwear, riding bikes, and very hot baths.” Then went about his business like it was nothing.

Help? I seriously am officially confused.
