Advice and tips on backpacking through Europe?

Plan to go on an adventure soon on a tight budget if anyone has any prior experience or stories, or any advice LMK!!!!
I want to start south of Italy and work my way all the way up north Europe ending in Amsterdam.

I would look into the Eurail, you can buy passes that take you anywhere in Europe for unlimited travel days. Expensive up front but it depends on how many countries you are going/how many days. If you have a valid student ID defs bring that, you can use it so many places for a discount! We bought SIM cards once we got there so we could use our phone, it’s not necessary but usually you can get a prepaid plan for 15-25 euro and it made me feel better knowing that I could call if there was an emergency or look things up.

I’ll be traveling to Europe next month. (My first international trip!!) I was reading about all neutral color wardrobe with few pieces to create several looks without overpacking. Especially since souvenirs are real.
