Sti testing

I had unprotected sex (mistake one I know) in mid December, had some symptoms but they were gone when the guy was gong to take me to PP so we just said we'd come back if the symptoms did (mistake 2 but whatever). I haven't heard from him in like a week which is unusual so I've expected the worst and just went ahead and told my mom I needed to see a doctor (I left out the details) I did more research and have come to the conclusion that it's trichomoniasis because the pictures and the symptoms match me perfectly. Has anyone ever had this? Also any tips on keeping my mom away or out of the room especially when it comes to the "are you sexually active?" question comes up, def not lying to someone who is there to help
