Brides! When it comes to hair and makeup for the bridal party, do you cover the cost or would you have everyone pay for their own?

Soooo my sisters wedding is quickly approaching and the last thing to do is pay for hair and makeup - which would be $140 ish per person for airbrush makeup and hair styling... it’s not the worst prices for makeup I’ve seen but also... I get $100+ for that can be a lot... so my sisters is debating on wether she should cover it all or partially or let them pay for it all themselves? What do you guys think?

I guess it depends, did the girls have to pay for their dresses, shoes ect? 
and if your sister wants it a certain way then it would be nice to pay for it. 
I just had my girls do their own makeup however they wanted because A. I didnt was to pay 🤣and B. I didn't really care.

If everyone paid for their own dresses etc. she should pay for makeup & hair, especially if she’s demanding it be done professionally.

I was in a wedding like this where the bride wanted everyone to get hair and makeup done by this girl she knew. It was professional but I was still pissed that at $180 I didn’t have a choice. It didn’t help that the dress was $250 and the shoes were $50. Honestly I have a bad taste in my mouth for the bride now for making me spend $500 not including all the gifts for shower and wedding and engagement party. Plus my husband and my son were in it too. I think the wedding cost us like $2500 maybe more and it really stressed us out financially. Some brides today have gotten so selfish thinking that everyone has loads of money to spend on them. When I got married I tried to make it really affordable. I let them do their own hair and makeup and pick out their own shoes. Found a great dress from David’s bridal on clearance for them. Honestly the picture still look fabulous and everyone looks happy because I didn’t beat them over the head with costs to be in my wedding. Did I mention she also wanted each bridesmaid to chip in $1000 each so she could go to the DR for a bachelorette party week 🙄This was just my experience. Brides should keep in mind that even though it’s your special day you shouldn’t expect your friends to go bankrupt appeasing you. It’ll ruin the friendship and make them resent you. Sorry for the rant but I’m still pissed 🤣

If it's optional, they pay for it themselves. If you want everyone to do it professionally, or in a specific way, then the bride should pay for it.

I let my girls do their own hair and make up. If they wanted it done professionally that was their call. With that said, I was in a wedding last year and the bride had hair and make up come to our hotel, but we paid for it outselves. I opted to do my own make up.

Do these women work? Do they have money to spend? Those who can afford should pay them selves and those who don’t have the means can be helped out so they feel/ look just as pretty. Common curtesy to offer to pay when you can. No need to put the bride into more stress.

My sister had the ladies available, and if we wanted it we paid for it. She got a discount because of the multiple ladies. But as far as I can remember every one of these things we paid for our own. I just chalk it up to the overall cost. If I couldn’t afford this I would simply turn down the offer of being in the wedding.
