Convertible crib and car seat?

So I like the idea of being able to use something for a long time. I'm a FTM and I'm on a budget so I'm thinking this would be my best option for long term. 
What's everyone's opinion on convertible cribs and car seats?

Got a convertible crib for our son. Only took a couple nights for him to get used to us taking the front off (we did get one of those partial mesh rails so he would still feel secure, but still able to get in and out by himself). However, he’s going to have to live with his teeth marks all around the to for a long time, converts all the way up to a full size bed...

I put my Son in a safety first convertible carseat at 3 months. He cried none stop in his infant carseat so the convertible car seat was a life saver for me. My stubborn little guy loves the extra cushion/support.

I have a convertible crib, and love it. I got an infant car seat at my baby shower and then bought a larger one for later. I like that the infant seat came with a stroller that works until 65 lbs. that seemed worth it to me.

I have the Delta 4 in 1 convertable crib ! we love how it looks and was only 200. (babys still cooking for 2-3 more weeks) so haven't used it yet but hoping itll last us a while
