Why do I look so fat and ugly when a picture is taken of me compared to when I take a photo of myself in the mirror? Jesus Christ no wonder nobody wants to date me

Okay, but the REAL scientific reason is that we only ever see ourselves in the mirror. That's how we perceive ourselves so that's what we see as the attractive version of ourselves. But that image is flipped from what everyone else sees. When someone takes a picture of you, it's from a point of view you never see. Therefore you perceive it as wrong and thus unattractive.
I assure you that you look just fine both ways sweetie ❤️

I mean this is pretty harsh but if you’re looking for a real scientific answer it’s because we perceive ourselves as more attractive in the mirror and angles are everything. I look smokin in the mirror. Potato in person.

I bet you’re not ugly. Don’t be so hard on yourself! You’re probably doing the best you can. Your body image is not going to change with negative self talk.

Also to add onto everyone comment, when you take a picture of yourself you know your angles. You generally know how to make yourself look good and what flatters you. But when someone else is taking a photo of you, they don’t know your angles or if the lighting is flattering to you etc.
