Contractions 2-5 mins apart and they still sent me home

I’m 40+3 and I’ve been contracting baaaad since Saturday night/Sunday morning. They were 15-20 mins apart at first then got to 10 average by mid-day yesterday and then under 10 mins by 7:30p yesterday. They’ve been hurting a lot more and more and finally got to 3-5 mins and went in around 5:00a Monday morning. I can’t even move through these contractions at this point. They checked me and I’m only 2.5cm!! (NO CHANGE SINCE MY LAST EXAM WHICH WAS WEDNESDAY). I’m baffled.

How could I be contracting this hard and this close togegher but my cervix still isn’t dilating?! I already lost my mucus plug too so I’m so confused.

She told me basically to go back home and wait til they get more intense.... MORE intense?! Or if my water breaks. This is crazy lol. Never heard of this.

I’ve been contracting for more than 24 hours.
