Ziva is here

Ziva is here!

I went to my prenatal appointment on Wednesday, January 30. Got yet another non reactive nst. So I was sent to the hospital to get a bpp done. Since I didn't have my insulin pill in 2 days, they decided to keep me. At 6 PM I received a Foley bulb to get my cervix softened up.

So for 12 hours, I'm having to rely on others to go to the bathroom. And no food!

Get to the point of time to take Foley bulb out. I'm ecstatic because this means I can move around a bit more. When they checked me, I was a 2...still.

So on January 31, I'm allowed to eat breakfast because they don't want to start the pitocin just yet. I order my lunch and before it arrives, they come in to insert another Foley bulb so back to not eating. My dad comes by and checks on me again. Mom continuously calling me to check on me. Mind you, I'm in the birthplace alone. After several shots of pain medications, they finally get me to agree to an epidural.

Lo and behold, this sucker does not work! Not only that, I'm now completely tied to this bed in which I can't even go to the bathroom. I'm annoyed, hungry, and anxious. They put a catheter in when they did the epidural which made no sense since I wasn't eating or drinking.

Early February 1, they pull the Foley bulb and says I'm at a 4. When I try to reposition, the real fun begins as my water breaks naturally. I call the nurse and she says that is exactly what happened. As the day progresses, I am nearly screaming from the pain. My favorite cousin is here with me this time. So I'm still laboring, having two contractions before I'm relieved when I can't take it anymore and demand a c-section.

They take entirely too long prepping me. I did get some relief from the catheter by having them take it out for a while though. I start pushing and the only one who notices what I'm doing is my cousin. She says I gotta stop pushing. They heard her and immediately the room is flooded with medical staff.

I'm screaming and cursing and in between I'm bearing down. They get me in position to put the catheter back in and was like uh oh, we not doing that. My doc says next contraction go ahead and push. I do just that. 9 pushes total and I welcome my perfect princess into the world.
