Anyone on citalopram??

Please tell me how they made you feel and what side effects you experienced.. ive just started taking them.. when did they kick in for you??

Iv been taking them for almost 2 years. I’m literally only taking a quarter of a pill a day as I’m trying to come off of it. When I first started taking it I felt so much better. Felt like I could get up and tidy the house and put on some nice clothes and felt like a weight had been lifted! The only thing I started to find was that after almost a year I started to feel numb, like I knew I loved people but just didn’t feel it. Although I don’t know if this was feelings coming back from a previous abusive relationship. This is why Iv tried to come off of them but the dr said it’s not a problem to be on them long term. Iv really struggled to come off of them. If I try to not take even the 2.5mg I start to get really dizzy and nauseous. I definitely needed to start taking this medication though. It gave me the extra push with counselling to put me back where I needed to be. Fingers crossed it works for you too and I hope this was helpful 😊
