No heartbeat at 10 week ultrasound?

Question

I had met usual dr appointment today and she ended up sending me to the hospital for a vaginal ultrasound and she took my blood for hormone levels. The ultrasound tech said she didn't see a heartbeat or movement from my baby... my doctor is suppose to call me in the morning with results.. anyone had this happen to them?

Yes. Twice. It’s heart breaking. It’s called a missed miscarriage or silent abortion. You usually have three options. Wait for the baby to expel itself. Have a D&C, where they put you under and take the baby out. Or take an oral medication (or vaginal suppository) to induce contractions do the baby will expel. 
I preferred the waiting option. I took the medication vaginally with my first and it was traumatic for me. Everyone is different. There is no easy way to deal with this. I am so sorry for your loss. Time does help heal this hole. And you are NOT alone. It is so so common and needs to be spoken of more.
