When is the “safe zone”

I’m almost 10 weeks and I’m trying to remain positive but I’ve heard sooo many stories on here of people loosing there baby at many different stages of pregnancy. I thought 12 weeks was the “safe zone” and that’s when I was gonna tell people, but now I feel like I should wait until 20+ to tell anyone.

Your chances for miscarriage drop significantly at 12 weeks, but there is no such thing as a safe zone.  Most people announce at 12 weeks.  I don’t mean to scare you but worrying is just part of pregnancy from start to birth, and after birth you worry about your child the rest of your life.  You just have to accept that fear and work through it.

We waited until 12 weeks to announce to everyone - we’d already told close family though! I don’t think I could have waited until anything past 15/16 weeks as that was when my bump got more noticeable. 
But, I’m 18+ now and if I’m honest it doesn’t feel like there is a ‘safe zone’. Obviously the risk of miscarriage reduces hugely after 12w, but late miscarriages and still births still happen, unfortunately 😭. The way I look at it is that I’d want my friends and family to support me (god forbid that it doesn’t 🤞🏻🙏🏻) in that situation so it’s better for them to know as it would be so much harder telling them about the pregnancy and miscarriage all in one go. 
Ultimately, it’s your decision so wait until 12 weeks and see how you both feel!

It’s best not to read stories online. Unfortunate things happen but it’s not really common. You have to think how many babies are born everyday. You are past the main “worry point” in my opinion for early pregnancy. The thing is you will always worry. I’m 34 weeks and I still worry about her. I don’t think that will ever stop! Try to remember this is a natural process for your body, you are made to have children. You have to trust in your body x

If you’re under age 40, have no real history of miscarriages, and have no health issues you’re probably safe to announce

There is no such thing as a safe zone. The difference between 10-12 weeks is just 2% but waiting until 20 weeks unfortunately guarantees you nothing.
