What you first ultrasound transvaginal or external?

I have my first ultrasound tomorrow! I’m almost 9 weeks, just curious about what other people have experienced.

I have had 6 babies and have never had a trans vaginal ultrasound. They have all been abdominal.

They will start with abdominal and then do transvaginal if needed

I had my first ultrasound at 11 w 5 days and they did transvaginal. We got really great pictures that way.

My first was transvaginal. But it was at a fertility clinic at 5 weeks.

I was 8wk5d at my first ultrasound and they did abdominal.

I think most start with the abdominal and if they can’t get a good picture go transvaginal. At least that had been my experience. Also if you were under 7 weeks there’d be a stronger chance of vaginal

My first one was 7wk, vaginal. They said its impossible at that point to have abdominal and didnt even try.  12wks was abdominal
