Positive pregnancy test

So I got a positive at home test yesterday and called my obgyn to see if she wanted me to go get blood work done or wait it out as I had a chemical back i July. Well the nurse never called me back so I’m wondering if I should go get a blood test myself? I see some people checking to see if their hcg has doubled but if it hasn’t is there anything can be done? Like is there a point in me doing that myself
