What do I do?

So I’m trying to get close to Christ again but the thing that continuously stops me from getting closer is not knowing if what I read is bad? I know this is kind of tmi but I read books that kind of go into detail about sex because it feels like an escape from all of the stress and pain that I constantly carry. Will this keep me from Christ or should I stop and just try to stop reading it all together?
