At what age?

Should a baby leave the bottles? My daughter left hers at 8 Months i changed to a certain zippy cup which are dentist approved. Now my son of 1 yr I tried doing the same but his a little tough one. I tried all kinds of zippy cups and nothing. He won’t leave his bottle. At what age should they leave it? I know theres cases where they’re re still a little older and still drink from the bottle which can be bad for they’re teeth

The AAP recommends stopping bottles at 12 months but no later than 18 months.

Tbh a child’s main source of nutrition is milk (breast or formula) until a year of age, so I wouldn’t cut it off until after that. But that’s just me

I definitely think at 2. They don’t need to create an unnecessary habit just out of comfort. Same with pacifiers. That’s how my cousin kept sucking her thumb until she was like 5. Kids adapt quickly.

I knew I wasn't doing bottles past 12 months and we ended up being bottle free by 9 or 10 months. I'd drop it now.

Don't quote me but I think 2 years is the hard limit. But I think it's more case by case. Not every kids gets teeth at the same time, ya know?
I took the bottle away at 11.5 months. I handed my daughter a sippy and completely got rid of the bottle. She didn't have a choice. She fussed for a small amount. Maybe 10 minutes? Then took to the sippy and never turned back.

we do a sippy for water and formula in a bottle. 
he's 11 months. 
for the next few weeks I'm going to be adding milk and less formula to his bottle. and at 12 Months we will go right into sippy cups.

They recommend it at a year, but in the two year old room at my child’s daycare most still get bottles at home (though perfectly comfortable with cups).
