LGBTQIA+ acronym

Sorry that the title is confusing, I really didn't know how to word it.

I’ve seen a lot of debate about wether asexuality should be included in LGBTQIA. I also constantly see people complain about how long the acronym is, if it will continue to grow, and at this point, is pretty confusing and a weird mix of sexuality and gender. So, this is kind of a 3 part debate.

1. Should the A(asexuality) be included in the acronym? The main view points on this is that it shouldn’t since ace spectrum people don’t face the same discrimination as being gay, or that it should because it still very much affects how people on the ace spectrum live and how others see them compared to straight people.

2. Should the sexuality side and the Gender side of LGBTQIA be separated? i see many people believe it should since being a sexuality minority vs a gender minority effects people very defrently and are not that similar. Some options for the sexuality side might be LGBQA, LGBPA, LGBA, LGBQ, or LGBP. Some options for the gender side could be TQI, TQIN, TIN, or TI. If you think they should be separated, what acronyms would be best?

3. Do you believe the acronym at this moment, is too long, or that its fine since it is inclusive? What do you think the acronym should be?

For those who are a bit lost: LGBTQIA is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or questioning, Intersex gender, and Asexual. P means Pansexuality and N means Non-binary gender.

This is NOT a debate about gender or sexuality this is a debate about the LGBTQIA+ acronym.
