Pro-life or Pro-choice?

My boyfriend and I had a pregnancy scare a week ago. I decided if I was pregnant I would keep it, but he doesn’t want to. He and I have been together for 2.5 years. We’re planning to get married next year and start having kids soon after. I think since we’re planning on having a family within the next year, it doesn’t make since not to keep it. He says we’re not ready, the timing isn’t right, and that he doesn’t want a kid right now. Please keep in mind that we live together, we both have stable jobs, we’re at a good place in our relationship and eventually want kids together. He says it’s not fair to him bc he doesn’t have a choice in the matter. I don’t understand why he’s so against it, if we’re planning on starting a family in the next year or so. It’s making me question our relationship and now ever since I told him I would keep it if I were to get pregnant, he’s been rude and mean to me. At this point I’m questioning moving forward with him. What should I do?

I’m pro choice. I think if you are having sexual intercourse with anyone and you aren’t trying to conceive it’s VERY important to take all precautions to prevent getting pregnant. It’s unfair to force a abortion on someone and it’s also unfair to force a unwanted pregnancy on someone so be smart and take precautions to prevent pregnancy!

I'm pro life. I dont think the man get any say it's not his body if he doesn't want it okay great you can be single & can pay for the child until he/she is 18 just because an abortion is what's convenient for him he shouldn't be having sex. It's a life there is no denying that. But thats MY opinion.. not shaming anyone that has different views/opinions people get crazy on here. Maybe you should really think about your relationship and have a good talk about your views with him. Good luck!

Today is not a yr away tho, and he shouldn’t have to be pressured just because you’re more ready than him, it was a scare not an actual pregnancy and maybe this happened so u both realise you’re not in the same place and may not belong together

He’s upset and feels like it’s unfair because it is unfair. You’re forcing something on him that he isn’t ready for, yous both chose to have sex yous both took the risk and you should both have a decision in what happens. How would you feel if he had the final say in something so life changing and you didn’t agree but he said tough luck it’s my choice? Would you feel hurt he didn’t consider you? Would you be upset he’s just doing what he wants not what you both want? Clearly you guys aren’t on the same page about things and maybe it’s an eye opener, and yous should both definitely save having kids till you are both ready which means avoiding pregnancy scares in the first place.

I would remind him that he does have a choice in it bc he has the choice to either be as protected as can be w both birth control and condoms, or not have sex. It takes two to make a baby. 
But I would say it’s not that serious imo. If you were pregnant and he made a big deal of it, I’d think a little differently, and who knows, maybe if you were pregnant, he’d think different too!

Honestly I think he's being a douche, and if a guy told me I would have to get an abortion because he wasn't ready I would leave him in the dust real fast. 
I could understand him not wanting to try right now. If he wanted to wait until the marriage, then so be it. But if you accidentally got pregnant (which does happen) and he acts like that, is that really someone you want to spend your life with??

There is and will never be a perfect time to have kids. You will always have something going on, need money, have issues, etc. but you make it work for children. Maybe he actually won’t be ready in a year to start a family like you guys had discussed which will probably involve more discussion.

I’m pro-choice all the way. While it IS a decision that both parties should talk about, ultimately it’s the woman’s body that is going to physically carry and nurture the child. 
If you aren’t ready for a baby, then use birth control. But be realistic and not think that pregnancy is impossible, because there’s always a chance. And in the result of birth control failure, you both need to make this big decision. 
As for his reaction, it’s more that he isn’t “ready” for a child right now, which is perfectly fair... and some men react badly to big news. I wouldn’t hold it against him.
My fiancé and I fell pregnant while I had the copper iud, he was very shocked, and told me to consider ALL options, but ultimately it was my decision, and he would support me. We now have a gorgeous 10.5 month old, and expecting her sibling in August this year 😊

Pro choice. In this case I'd be questioning the relationship too. You need to have an open and honest conversation with him to try and understand why he doesn't want to keep it if you're planning to start a family soon anyway, it doesn't really make sense. You also need to prepare yourself for going out alone if you are pregnant as if he's been clear from the start that he doesn't want the baby you can't force him to be involved.
