Why me??

I am 3 months PP with my 3rd baby. I had my first period January 29th-Feb 14 however, I started my period again Feb 23rd-March 6th the previous period I just had was AWFUL!!! I had bled through a super plus tampon, 2 pads, my clothes and a towel within an hour. They said that it was normal and put me on provera which did nothing for me. Now that I am off my period finally, I am cramping so bad every single day. It’s not just mild cramps like I am ovulating or something, this is excruciating cramps. My gyno wants me to start birth control Sunday to see if my hormones level back out but I feel like something else is going on with all the cramping I’ve had. Has anyone else dealt with this or something similar? What was the outcome?
