How do you meet people aside from apps?

I’m almost nineteen, and my love life is rather... flat.
I’ve tried dating apps but most of the guys on them only want sex.
I like sex, but that’s not ALL I want.
I know I’m young, and I have plenty of time to find “the one,” but I still am not sure of how to meet new people.
I’m open to dating, but I don’t know any ways of meeting people to make connections with.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.💛

Oh god lol when I first red this post I thought it said THIRTEEN 😂😂 yeah apps suck. I recently told myself that I am not going to use apps to date every again because I find that that the relationship always tend to be so shallow when you know you have a hundred options just a swipe away. 
If you are in school try joining a new club or organization. 
You can also try volunteering - not only will you be doing something great and possibly boosting your resume, you’ll also meet people with good intentions. Never be afraid to strike up conversation with people that look interesting. It’s hard now a days because people are always looking at their phones, but remember folks love talking about themselves - so start with questions that give them an opportunity to
