If your house was on fire, and you had the time, what would you grab?

I ask because last week, the apartment building next to mine caught fire. It was really windy, so there was the chance the fire could have spread to my building (it didn't).

We live on the third floor, so my husband and I came up with a little plan. He went downstairs and watched, keeping me updated since I can't actually see the fire from our apartment, while I stayed upstairs to keep our dogs calm, gather a few things, and I could quickly grab our dogs and get out if needed.

I took folders out of our filing cabinet and threw them in a bag, so we had all of our important documents, and I put it near the door with my purse, keys, and a phone charger, and put the harnesses on our dogs. Then my mind kind of went blank and I couldn't think of anything else to grab.

We plan on getting a fire proof safe and putting together some bug-out-bags to put in the coat closet, but I want to be better prepared in case something happens before we can put that stuff together.
