How do I tell my mom that he’s older?

Okay I’m 19 I recently just started dating when I was 18 and I have started see someone and he is literally the sweetest and funniest and he is g like the other guys I’ve dated because he isn’t a douche but he’s 29 and I don’t think it’s a big deal but idk how to tell my mom that he’s 29 and I’m afraid she’ll freak out and I don’t want that and I’d love for him to meet my family but again afraid they’ll make a big deal out of nothing.

I’m not trying to be negative, but while 10 years doesn’t seem like a big difference (heck my husband and I have a 7 year difference) it’s the ages that you are that would make it concerning for your mom. If you were 27 dating a 37 it would be different, but a 29 year old should not have the same interests as a 19 year old. You’re just in different places in your lives ( or should be and rightfully so! ) but if you think about it no matter how mature you are, he shouldn’t really be into someone so young. Just food for thought and I’m a women who always was dating guys older than me, and I never understood what my mom was talking about until I had my life established and I thought there’s no way I would date a 19 year old. Anyways I think you should just tell your mom about it. Good luck!

i mean that’s perfectly legal but it always startles me when men go for someone almost half their age.  you gotta consider that maturity level they’re at that they can connect with someone that young.  it’s always a red flag for me.  so make sure you consider that your mom could agree with me!
