How long from first steps to proper walking?

My 11 month old son can take about 5/6 unassisted steps but then he wobbles and falls on his bum. He started doing this a couple days ago. How long did it take for your LO to go from wobbly steps to full on walking?

My son started trying to take steps at 8 months and was waddling by 9. All he wanted to do was walk once he learned he could. He wasn’t a stable walker until 10 almost 11 months and was running by his birthday 🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂. 
I definitely encouraged my son to walk and practiced with him a lot. He also really loved his walker which was great for both of us when I was busy cooking. 
My cousin’s son is almost 10 months and just learned to stand. So every kid is different.

My son was 17 months when he started taking steps but was about 18 months when he started walking properly. 20 months and he doesn’t stop. He was late at starting now I can’t keep track of him lol.

My daughter is 11.5 months and took two wobbly steps yesterday!
With crawling, she did a wobbly crawl, and then didn’t try it again until almost a week later, and then she was off! So will be interesting to see if the same pattern happens with walking 😊

So my son just went one day and hasn’t stopped since 😂 he started standing without needing to pull himself up on something, he did that for about a week then just walked and walked and walked now he runs everywhere 🏃‍♂️ oh he was 1 year and 12 days when he started walking

Every kiddo is different. My daughter could take a few steps at 11 months but didn't start fully walking until like 2 weeks ago at 14 months.
