I moved into the hospital?!
So my story is at my routine appt on feb 12th I was told the best thing to do was to plan to induce that week. Due date was feb 22nd. I had been doing non stress tests bc I developed gestational hypertension and they didn’t want it to get a chance to get worse since it has been that way for the last month or so.
I checked in Valentine’s Day-so romantic for me and the bf haha. They had to get my iv ready in case. That was awful. They couldn’t get it in and my arm ended up so bruised and sore. They inserted the cervidil and in the morning they checked and nothing. So they gave me the pill they put up there. Nothing. So then they tried the cervidil again with a little of pitocin. Also that midwife was not as gentle! In the morning I felt cramps and I had just dilated 1cm. So then they put in the balloon thing...which was really bad. I was just dilated enough she could get it in. It was a painful process. And annoying to have in. When they checked me the next day. I only dilated to 2cm but was 100% effaced. I was so disappointed and beat down at this point. So they told me at that point I could go home and come back to try it all over again!-absolutely not!-I could try the pitocin anyway and they would up it continuously and see if they would start me into labor-or schedule a c-section. This is Sunday the 17th now...so I decided to try pitocin bc I really didn’t want a c-section. So I was on that for 6 hours and it did nothing but give me bad back labor. It was exhausting and so upsetting so I finally through in he towel and said let’s schedule the c-section.
So finally on Monday February 18th my little girl was born via c -section at 7:53 AM. It was so scary but she was perfect and I was glad I chose to do The surgery when I did bc she had a bowel movement in the womb so who knows what could have happened...so I was actually in recovery for only 2 days. I was discharged on Wednesday 2/20.
So I was in the hospital for almost a whole week! Word has got around about the poor girl that has been there for so long! I t sucked and I was so glad to finally go home! We all were!
