Hospital tour?

Did you go on a hospital tour or just went to the hospital when you went into labor? I don't know if a tour is really necessary or just a waste of time...

Tour is worth it, in my opinion. They tell you exactly where to go, when to call them to tell them you’re in labor, walk you through the whole process. Really helps ease your mind during an already unpredictable situation.

We had a tour as part of our prepared childbirth classes.   It was very helpful.

We didn’t and felt very comfortable with that choice. I think it is a good idea if you are nervous or have a lot of questions.

We’re going to be doing it, especially because you can just stop in. You don’t have to schedule at ours. Neither of us has ever been sick enough to go to a hospital and we live 5 minutes away. I’d rather be prepared and know what they have for us than any surprises. I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary though

With my first i did. We cha ged hospitals for this pregnancy and didnt do the hospital tour

Depends how big is your hospital that you’ll be going to? With my first son I did not do a tour it wasn’t a huge hospital plus I worked there. With this little boy I am doing the tour because of renovations they moved all labor and delivery to a different hospital. This new hospital is a women’s hospital and they do have a great maternity ward I never been there personally and it’s a huge hospital so it would be beneficial for myself and husband to know where to go and what to do.

I’d do it !  I didn’t tour the second hospital I gave birth at because I wasn’t supposed to give birth there but I had a preemie so was unexpectedly sent there.  I really wish I had toured it just in case.
I just toured the birth center I’m using today and I’m only 13 weeks lol.

I had been to the hospital where my son was born just 7 months prior when my nephew was born so I didn't do the tour. In my opinion, it's not worth it unless the hospital is big & the NICU is in a different area than L&D.
