Boyfriend / his family issues.

Hes 26 im 30. Boyfriend has helicopter parents and he still lives at home so its even worse. Very nosey over involved, pushy. And was never incredibly warm with me felt jealousy. Spent most time together at my house because my family is just very easy going. Been together about 3 years has had some troubles broke up here in there for a couple of weeks. Long story short his parents didnt approve of our breaks up and reconcilation and asked him to choose between them and me and he chose them and im heart broken. Its been a day things are just messu now. Do i try to convince him this is kinda wrong and dont do this ? I dont know what to do im so angry and sad.

Now tells me he loves me doesnt want to hurt me but he is i dont understand
