Has anyone had laser hair removal?

If so, could you let me know what your experience was like? I am considering getting it done for only my underarms. I get ingrown hairs and razor bumps on my arm pits after shaving and it’s painful. I hate it. I’d love to no longer have to shave there. I know sometimes hair can grow if new follicles develop but I’d be happy even with a reduction in growth.

I had it for my bikini area. It’s painful but it did help a lot with ingrown hairs. I probably need more treatments but I got two.

I had it twice for facial hairs chin area in my case chin hairs was bad n hard due to I waxed it & it did get lighter after the treatment I still have it but it’s very light I do threading 🧵 my chin once a3 months

I worked in aesthetic medicine for 4 years and got the benefit of free laser. First make sure you are getting laser removal and not electrolysis (Candela Alexandrite laser are common and work amazing). Laser removal CAN'T treat blond, red, or gray hair...the laser cannot pick up those colors. 1 or 2 treatments won't work for complete removal. Due to the hair growth cycle you need 6-9 txs so find a place that does packages. 100% removal is rare as most people have a few follicles that grow off or appear later but 85-95% reduction should happen. Make sure they have a refund policy if it doesn't work for you (rare but does happen to some people). If ypu have hormone imbalance or PCOS the results can be effected as agressive hair growth is a common side effect of those. Also make sure they inform you about risk. If a technician makes a mistake with settings or they don't guve you the things to avoid (sun exposure, tanning, Accutane, spray tans,ect) you can be burnt by the lasers or get hypopigmentation. If you go to a reputable spot side effects are rare and it is amazing. Know you might need a touch up in the future as hair follicles can appear new and things like birth control, having a baby, or menopaus can also cause new follicles to grow. Being a redhead i could only get my underarms treated as that was the only body part that had some dark hair.
