Relationship problem

Ok so me and my guy have been together for 2 years. We've be thru so much crap together it's unreal. Anyways he asked me to marry him or do I thought. Well I did what most girls do and start planning. Well three months ago he told me that the ring he gave me was a gift from my aunt and she told him to go give it to me and he said that it wasn't intended for it to be a engagement ring. Well then he asked about a month or so ago to cancel the wedding. I said yes cause I felt too much stress from going to be starting beauty school the same month we are getting married. Well tonight I asked (just joking) if he wanted to be engaged still and he said yes and I asked him are you sure and he said no. Well we talked and I asked if he'd want to redo it over again and do it when he was ready and he said yes... I felt like I was just punched in the throat and then the stomach. I got up and left . I don't know what to say or what to do.... Someone please give me some advice.. I need something.
