A second redhead?

As y’all can see.. my 7 year old has red red hair. We are currently 28 weeks pregnant with a little girl and are trying to ask around if anyone else has more than one child with red hair? Or what the odds are? Either way, we are so excited and can’t wait to meet baby and see what she will look like!

Are you or your partner a redhead?  If you (or he) is then the chances are much higher because it means baby will have at least one copy of the mutated gene that causes red hair (gene is recessive so baby needs two copies to have the trait).  If you're both just carriers then it's a 1 in 4 shot.  Unlike eye color, or other hair colors, the red hair gene is much more straight forward.  My husband is a Ginger, but our first has my color, which is more brown with some auburn highlights.  I *think* I'm a carrier though so we'll see what #2 has...

My mom has red hair. I have red hair but my son doesn't. My sister has brown hair and her daughter has red hair. I guess it all depends.

I am a ginger, and I have a daughter with dark brown hair (nearly black) and another with brown hair 😂 the baby I’m pregnant with is biracial so very unlikely to be a ginger.

I have 7 cousins who are siblings, all with black hair. Every single one of them had at least 1 red headed child! The genes are no joke!
