PPD - Effexor?

Question

Have any mama taken Effexor for depression? I’m on day 4 (taken it for 3 days at 2pm and will take again today) and I have noticed I wake up groggy and nauseous no matter how long I sleep. Has anyone else experienced this and have some advice? Any other side effects that are common?
Of course I’ve researched myself but there’s a lot of information online, I’d like to hear about some first hand experiences as well.

Thing is with medication and medication like this its trial and error. You wont notice much of a positive difference at the start. Our bodies have got to adjust. Loads of people end up stopping them because of the side effects but you've got to get through them in order to notice a difference. Personally anxiety and depression medication has never worked for me. Only my ADHD meds do. But I had a rough start with them, but I had to pass that stage in order to see the benefits. Talk to your doctor and ask how long these side effects will last until they pass, if you carry on feeling the side effects after it shouldve passed then go back to your doctor. Maybe you need to take a different dosage, or take it at a different time or maybe you need a different kind of medication all together. They start everyone on the standard to see how you react to it then they will adjust it to what works best for you. Good luck momma.

I don’t take Effexor but I’ve had great success with Zoloft! I take a half dose of 25mg.

I took for about a year after my little guy. It will be hard for the first week. My doc told me to take it at night before bed and it cut down on my nausea and grogginess. It worked well for me but I know it’s different with everyone. All the love and positivity your way mama!! ❤️

Sometimes it just takes a bit for your body to get used to it. I take zoloft and for the first week I felt nauseous pretty much all day every day

I am on effexor after trying 2 others (lexapro and celexa) didn't care for either of them and the side effects. Unfortunately you have to give then a chance and work thru the side effects. They may fade. I gave those 2 at least a month and still felt crappy side effects. Effexor on the other hand has been minimal to no side effects for me and I feel it's helping. You may have to try a few but make sure you give them a chance for at least a month. The sude effects may fade.

I learned after about a week of building that drug up in my system that I had a severely adverse reaction. I had a migraine so bad I would just rock back and forth in the dark. I had nosebleeds and muscle spasms, and heart palpitations. 
I ended up taking Zoloft instead.

When I took it I got the side effect of really bad hot flashes and it was rough. I eventually got off of it and getting off of it was so rough... I’m trying Zoloft for my postpartum now
