IUI Questions

Hey Ladies,

So I learned last week that due to my significant other’s semen analysis results that we would be referred to a reproductive endocrinologist for IUI. My OB did an ultrasound the other day of my ovaries and uterus just to make sure everything looked okay which it did. I have another appt with her in 2 weeks and I believe that is when she will put in the referral.

For those of you who have went through IUI, how long did it take for you to start the IUI procedure after you met with the fertility specialist? Was it within the same month or did it take a few months before they actually performed the procedure due to all the testing they do beforehand. I know they will want to do bloodwork, a test to make sure my Fallopian tubes aren’t blocked, and possibly another ultrasound unless they use the one my OB just performed. However, I just would like a rough estimate.

If anyone can provide any insight, that’d be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!
