Stay at home moms or work at home moms, are you expected to have the house clean and to get dinner ready when your SO gets home?

When I was a STAHM I got it done. I cooked and baked from scratch, made baby food and handled the household. It wasn’t that it was “expected.” I just took care of the household. It’s part of why I was home - to make sure it got done. My husband likes to cook and bake, so he would do that sometimes. As far as cleaning, he would help with big stuff - think deep cleaning the floors, repairs, etc. He generally sucks at helping around the house though.

I offer to/kinda make a habit too , because my husband works 12-16 hour days mon-Friday and sometimes weekends too. He deserves it!

My husband does the cooking 4/5 nights out of the week. We each have our “own” chores (not spoken, but just understood—ex I always forget to switch laundry, so he does that, he is clueless about cleaning a bathroom, so I do that) but pick up each other’s slack when needed. And we also help each other out while we are actively doing either cooking or cleaning.

I work full time and do most of the house work but thats because my husband works a lot of overtime. If I were able to stay at home I would definitely feel it was my job to clean and cook ect...

When I wasn’t pregnant I was doing all of the cooking and cleaning. But now we eat out most of days and the house is a mess. He says that he can’t clean but insists on getting professional cleaning twice a month which I can never get done. $400 a month for a cleaning is too much I guess.

If I have a day where I dont feel like doing it my husband could care less, but it isnt messy. I stay home with our son. Dinner is either cooked every night or ordered out, or he will grill or I will grill. He does most of the laundry when  he sees it and I fold and put away, If he sees dishes he will load the dishwasher or unload it. We both do the house work as a team. He works long days and so do I we find it best to work together because stuff gets done faster

I'm a stay at home mom and it's not really expected of me, but I do make sure the house is clean and dinner is cooked on time. And if not, my boyfriend understands. I end up doing most of the cleaning and cooking since my boyfriend works 40 hours a week so that I can take care of our son and not have to work.

I’m a stay at home mom . Nothing g is expected of me🤷🏻‍♀️ my husband never complains if something isn’t done. Especially since he is rarely home and more 6/7 days a week 12-14 plus hours and out of town a lot so he doesn’t complain bc he knows I handle the house errands kids ect . Now I do make sure laundry and the house ect are kept up so he can come home to a nice environment and family when he is home lol. But if it wasn’t done my husband wouldn’t say a thing 🤷🏻‍♀️
