Should citizens write tickets?

I mean... I guess it’s no different than my crazy stalker making fake accounts to get warrants on me repeatedly 🙄

I don’t think citizens should be able to do this. They claim it will take off the burden of the police’s JOB.... but you know how much is going to be fought over spiteful submissions now?

Plus there’s a mass influx of people moving in, rent and mortgage is rising ($2000 RENT for 1 bed 1 bath 700 ft on U street, for example).

Traffic is packed. Parking spots are almost nonexistent. Metro is packed. I don’t even bother getting on around 5pm. It’s basically a *gotta do what you can* situation.

Does anyone think this is a good idea?

If anything, a separate unit for people (employees) to view every live submission within the district and THEN someone comes out to write a ticket. I have seen some horrible things like in front of fire hydrants or very obvious -not- parking spots.
