He just slid right out 😂

Tuesday morning we were scheduled to be induced for vbac, but when we got to LDR something went wrong and I was mistakenly taken off the schedule. Every room was full and they were understaffed, so there was nothing we could do. After talking with my doctor, she told me she’d do everything she could to get me in later that day. My husband decided to work for a few hours until we heard anything, but only two hours passed and they told us to come back. 😅

We came back, got checked in, and prepared for a long night. Started pitocin at 4 pm, and after an hour I was already having contractions 2-3 minutes apart. By 5 pm, my doctor came in and decided to break my water, which immediately made my contractions stronger and more intense. 6:30 rolls around and I’m ready for my epidural. From 4 pm to about 9 pm I had progressed from 3 cm to 7 cm, so we decided to stop the pitocin and see if my body would do the work on its own. We waited a few more hours but had to start the pitocin again to get my contractions back to a normal pace. Soon my epidural wore off on one side so anesthesia had to come back and give me another dose. After fixing me up, they checked me and I was at 10 cm! Time to get ready. 😬

The delivery team and resident came in to start setting up for pushing. My nurses helped me get into position and prepared me for some practice pushes. I only pushed one and a half times and baby’s head was already crowning. 😳 I could feel my contractions at the top of my stomach just pushing him out, and it took one giggle from a joke my husband made to push that baby out down a water slide! 😂 My doctor hadn’t even made it to the room yet! Thankfully I only suffered a first degree tear, especially since he weighed a whopping 9 lbs!!

My recovery the last few days has been pretty easy, I have only had to take Tylenol and Motrin. We are finally home and getting ready to get his big brother home to enjoy time off together. 🥰
