Question about birth control

Hello,

Im on the ortho Vera birth control patch and use it consistently; I always take it off on Wednesday. Last cycle on my 3rd patch, right before the patch free week, my patch fell off. This was on Monday, so it came off two days earlier than it usually does. I kept it off to have my patch free week and get my period , then exactly a week later on Monday I put a new patch on to start a new cycle. Am I protected ? Was I protected during the patch free week ?
