Overdrawing card.
This may sound stupid but I know my bank card allows the card to be overdrawn and they just add a $35 charge for each transaction. I have 0$ in my account right now and I need to go to the store to get some food for my son. This month I’ve suddenly gotten into a pickle and I won’t have any income till at least mid November. Usually I have tons of money, i always pay off all my stuff and I’ve never actually been without before. I checked online and the food pantries near my don’t give out food till the last Saturday of the month, so I will have all of next week to wait. So I was thinking I can just go to the store and overdraw my card for some grocery’s for this week. I am going through a bunch of stuff to get help but none of it will start to work for another week or two so I can’t do anything else but wait. I just need reassurance that it’s okay to overdraw my account for grocery’s because I’m honestly scared of doing it and I have anxiety over this whole situation. And to be told I’m not wrong for this.
*edit*
thank you for all the replies, I wasn’t planting on using my card till November, just for one transaction today to get grocery’s for this week, I will be able to go to food pantries and stuff next week and start getting food from them every 2 weeks, but I have no way of getting food for this week. And I am also looking into assistance and everything to help me till November but it seems like everything has a small wait time to start, so it will take time for all the help to start coming in. I do have one family member that could help me but it’s my grandma and I feel horrible asking an old lady for money, but I guess overall I’m going to need to do it.
