Am I Wrong?

Someone I met through work has shown interest in me. Problem is, his wife passed away from cancer not too long ago. I know for a fact that they were getting a divorce before she was diagnosed. He asked me to go on a date with him a few days ago and I kind of feel weird about it. What would you do?

He may be very, very ready for companion ship at this point. I think it is very telling of his morals that he stayed with his wife at the end, even though they had already chosen to divorce.  He sounds like a decent human being. If you are interested, give him a shot. If it feels wrong to you then don’t. You know best.

When you say “Met through work” do you mean as in a client or a work colleague?
The whole wife/divorce situation is dicey enough, but what if things don’t work out? Will it affect your working career?

Ehhh I’d feel weird about it too. Even if they were planning a divorce prior, it’s still a huge stress and life change.

I would go out with him. He will know when he’s ready to move on. If it seems like he’s rushing or anything, you can take a step back or call everything off (if there is anything to call off at said time). But one date doesn’t hurt anything.
