Promise ring vs wedding ring.

My now husband bought me a promise ring only about a month into our relationship. We were going to be separated for a while due to the military so it was a very sweet gesture that symbolized everything was going to be ok. After almost 8 years he finally proposed. So after being together for song I was pretty sure he knew what I liked and what I wanted but what he was about to give me was something I never could have imagined. He hand drew a design he liked, found a jeweler to custom make it, had our last name initial carved in the band, and had them put in 5 of his grandmother's diamonds.

Then he picked out the guard which has pieces of gold from my great grandmothers necklace that got passed down to me. It is truly a very special ring. I am struggling to wear it now due to my pregnancy swelling, so I went to put it away last night and shocked myself with the difference!

This is so much more than just a piece of jewelry. I feel like it will be in our family for a very long time.
