Velamentous cord placement

My Drs office called and wants me to see a specialist to check the cord placement. They weren’t very specific with what they said. I figure if it was a big issue they would have told me to go to the hospital right away. According to my sister in law who is a Doula, she said in her experience they want to check the velamentous cord placement, if it’s blocking my cervix or not. First of all, I had the anatomy scan done at 17-18 weeks and I will be 30 weeks on Saturday. The imaging center was slacking on getting my results to my Drs office. Second, the baby has flipped since then and so she’s head down. Did anyone have experience with having a problem with the cord placement?
