Boyfriend has no job and is losing his apartment

He got let go of work because the position just doesn’t exist anymore. He doesn’t have really any money saved up- he bought a used car from a woman, she has given us the title, but when he went to get it registered they told him it was invalid, she ordered a new one. And she keeps telling us she mailed it but clearly she hasn’t.

That was $1,400. His rent and all the bills end up being like $1,300 a month. He is like $300 short this month, his lease is up after this payment. He doesn’t have a car, apparently can’t drive, has no family around here, and he has had such a shitty run he has no money saved bc he spent it all on the shitty car.

He’s been job hunting for months, no one has called him back. He’s been a manager for a several years now, and worked in retail for a total of 9. His experience I guess means nothing to businesses. He won’t stay with me and my family (I’m a decent amount younger then him, he knows my family but won’t stay for even a few weeks while things straighten out). He doesn’t have any friends who he can stay with because he would never stay with them. Quote from him “I’d rather live in a box on the street than take money”.

He’s just pinned against the wall and we don’t know what to do. I work a part time job making $300 a week or so, generally at most, so I’m really not in a position to help with his bills, and he won’t let me. I bought his/our groceries, some toiletries, etc... but I don’t know what we are supposed to do.

Do we try and find a place first? Do we find him a job first? What do we do?
