My boyfriend and his family

So my boyfriend has a lot of family

Who don’t live in our state and

Only come around on important occasions or once in a while. Whenever he has family over his house he always tells me he’ll see me when they leave. Sometimes they stay at his house for a few days and he will wait until days later to see me. My issue isn’t that he’s waiting to see me, my issue is that he doesn’t want to incorporate me into his family. I would love to hang out with his family and get to know them because I am a family oriented person. We’ve been together for three years and the only time I’ve seen his out-of-state family was at a funeral last year. How do I bring it up to him that I’d also like to hangout with his fam without sounding needy???
